Three Day Quote Challenge : Day 3

Three simple quotes for 3 days. There are the ones we should try to live by. Simplicity, forgiveness and an appreciation for nature!

I have always found it odd that people who think passive aggressively ignoring a person is making a point to them. The only point it makes to anyone is your inability to articulate your point of view because deep down you know you can’t win. It’s better to assert yourself and tell the person you are moving on without them and why, rather than leave a lasting impression of cowardness on your part in a person’s mind by avoiding them.

The Summer Day

Three Day Quote Challenge – Day 2.

I chose this beautiful poem by Mary Oliver, because honestly, it says everything!

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Mary Oliver

The Epic Awesomeness Award

I am finally getting down to the numerous award posts that were pending forever! If there ever were an award for procrastination, I would definitely get THAT one. 😛

David nominated me for this award ages ago. And he would laugh out loud if he realised I delayed it by this much. The perfectionist in me didn’t want to do a random quickie post. At Chape Personal Trainer, he is dishing out cool music playlists ideal for your regular workouts. If you’re a lazy bum like me (especially lazy at exercising), his tips will really help you get off your comfy couch. And a good beginning is ideal. Definitely check him out for his awesome posts and really friendly blog.

Without further ado, here are the rules:

  1. I know you are Awesome, tell us why.
  2. You are my friends and tell us about others.
  3. Be creative. It’s alright if you can’t be.
  4. I give no questions to be fully answered but let yourself go here. Thank you.

Why am I awesome? Because I am a good, patient human being. Not to sound quite full of myself but these awards make me feel really awesome. They are a validation of my work and all the likes and comments from fellow bloggers makes me feel extra special.

Everyone I have met on this virtual space has turned out to be really helpful. It is a miracle that a keyboard, an empty tex for everything we can write, gives us the freedom to be ourselves. I have noticed people are a lot happier, and more interactive here than in the real world. You, my readers, ARE my friends!

I am creative. I write and I draw! I am no Picasso but some of my funny drawings turn out just fine. Here is one of them now:

Three Day Quote Challenge: Day 3

Chirping with excitement like a little baby bird, today I successfully complete another one of the Three Day Quote Challenges. David, from Chape Personal Trainer, put me up to this little mischief! He’s great at that – and at exercising, healthy eating, helping and spreading a lot of cheer. You know what, see for yourself! He does his best work and inspires us at this address.

Challenge rules:
  1. Post three consecutive days.
  2. You can pick one or three quotes per day.
  3. Challenge three different bloggers per day.

230_full.jpgPeople think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master.two-quotes_318-10953.jpg

Three Day Quote Challenge: Day 2

It may seem strange that I jump at opportunities to post quotes that I love, but they give me the satisfaction of righteousness. I want to strive to be a better, well-rounded and wholesome person- which is hard to achieve in a callous diplomatic world.

But at least, I’m trying. And, David is helping me along by nominating me for the Three Day Quote Challenge. And, all three days, I will be posting about…. LOVE!

Challenge rules:
  1. Post three consecutive days.
  2. You can pick one or three quotes per day.
  3. Challenge three different bloggers per day.

“We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”

― Robert Fulghum, True Love

Three Day Quote Challenge: Day 1

There is nothing about David that I haven’t said before. But I will now say that he was my Santa! Showering me with another one of those Quote Challenges things that I love! (Honestly, I am so happy for the Three Day Quote Challenge); it completely legitimises my obsession with quotes. Find David with his excellent site at Chape Personal Trainer.

Challenge rules:

  1. Post three consecutive days.
  2. You can pick one or three quotes per day.
  3. Challenge three different bloggers per day.

“I belong to the people I love, and they belong to me–they, and the love and loyalty I give them, form my identity far more than any word or group ever could.”

― Veronica Roth, Allegiant

Today, I nominate ALL my WordPress friends to participate in this Quote Challenge. It is fairly rewarding 🙂

DARTS AWARDS – PREMIOS DARDOS

Once more, David nominated me for the famously legendary Premios Dardos! Translated, in means ‘Prize Darts’, and is awarded by one blogger to another, in recognition of cultural, ethical, literary and personal values that are transmitted in the form of creative and original writing. (Yay!)

His blog, if you haven’t seen it yet, is truly a treasure chest! I love it simply because it has quotes, daily fitness routines and awesome content. No wonder he’s always getting awards for being friendly, helpful, creative, and frankly, a very passionate blogger. There is a whole website on how to be healthy with good eating habits, exercise regimen and excellent foodie recipes too.

It’s an honour to have been nominated by him!

Three Day Quote Challenge: Diary Special!

Once upon a time, Chape Personal Trainer, nominated me for a Three Day Quote Challenge. I was very happy to have been challenged to do something I already loved so much! In my post, I admitted that I loved quotes so much that I have a diary for them. David then requested me to share that diary here on the blog.

David has been so wonderful and helpful that I don’t feel shy about sharing my diary. So, today, I will show that diary here!

Diary 1.jpg
It was something I started out with at least 10 years ago, and I have been writing in it ever since. It has definitely seen better days and good handwriting. In fact, I can honestly track the changes in my handwriting through it!

The quotes were general in the beginning and as my interest developed, I started focussing on certain themes- life, nature, Buddha, sacrifice, education and more. Then I even noted down important sayings, metaphors and proverbs. I also scribbled some smart-ass T-shirt quotes which made me laugh on days when I felt low. I have also found some cult phrases in my diary which were big at that time!
