Your calm.

My chaos longs for

your calm.

Well, its Valentine’s Day and I would be remiss to not post on my very lovely blog today. Hope you’re all having a great day with the love of your life, at work, with your best friends, family or just by yourself with pizza and Netflix, because  ‘yay, self-love’.

Another year and I would carefully keep my plans under wraps. Hehe, partly because I’m smack in the middle of my exams and the highlight of my day will be a few calls, some texting, good food and a ton of good music from my forever playlist.

Define Love

Define Love.
It’s a feeling, an emotion, and a religion that you make. It’s a current that shoots through your body electrifying and numbing the senses, both at once. It ebbs and flows, transforms you all day, every day. It lifts you up and keeps you afloat. It can also drown you. Because there is no exception or definition of love that is complete. It’s you, and it’s that one person who you just thought of.

We’re defining love today! I wouldn’t take up this immense task myself if it weren’t for overwhelming feelings one day, and this piece was born. It has been a while, and I still stand by this definition. It could change one day, but the last sentence will always resonate with me. Sometimes I surprise myself with some of my words. I just have never known that this feeling or this emotion exists in me – it is birthed in grandeur frequently. However, the underlying emotion resonates with a lot of people, and I am taken aback by the power of words! Especially when it is about life, relationships and/or love. I do not claim to be the authority on all of this, but a good grasp of the concept is enlightening and honestly a little bit empowering.

I share my raw feelings here like it were my diary. If you’re looking for me, you’ll find me between the lines, the rhetoric of the meaning and the metaphor of the cliche. What can I say, I love words and the English language!

Hope everyone reading has a lovely day! Signing off.

Wise Words Wednesday 12.12.18

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.

Robert Fulghum

I’m back from my small trip and should be regularly posting from now on. I wanted to not miss the Wise Words Wednesday update. I found this really good quote on knowledge, but it is not just that but encompasses a lot of things in life. Here’s to a good day!

Love: Elfchen!

Love,
ricochets off
your stony heart
to leave you wanting
more.
Next, for #augunfiltered, we had to write an Elfchen on ‘Ricochet’. ricochet – (of a bullet or other projectile) rebound off a surface. Ex: a bullet ricocheted off a nearby wall”

Elfchen is a type of poem of eleven words in a specific format of words per line:

Row 1: one word
Row 2: two words
Row 3: three words
Row 4: four words and
Row 5: one word.

Elf is the German word for eleven. Adding –chen to a noun in German gives it a sense of being wee or dear. The word Elfchen (always capitalized, as are all German nouns) translated into English is roughly elevenie. Sometimes that can happen. Initially, the feelings of love don’t affect someone. But later they pine for the same emotions again. Because they feel lonely or unloved. But it’s too late by then.

I’m traveling, and have scheduled a few posts so I do not miss out!

Skullduggery (micro poetry)

Broken hearts
Forgiven skullduggery
Not letting your emotions go
This is how you grow.

Skulduggery – underhand, unscrupulous, or dishonest behavior or activities. Trickery or fraudulence. “a firm that investigates commercial skullduggery”
Skullduggery was the next prompt. This was a very simple and very life-oriented post. Because we grow only when we forgive someone’s trickery, have healed our broken hearts and have a grip on our emotions.
