My Eclipse (Flashback Friday)

Although austere,
yet absolute, complete
a solitary existence was mine.

Spellbinding, you came along
unbeknown shade to my shine
the welcome eclipse to a shrine.

An ardent irrevocable ring
no love bargained
boundless as the stars in the night.

Short, tender marriage
christened “Curt!” “Contrived!”
this jubilant union of darkness & light.

This post appeared for the first time on this blog in November 2016. I am reposting because I have a few more followers now and love the post a lot!

Red (Describe without using the word)

I feel you ebbing and flowing
Clotting and blotting
You are fire and you are desire
You’re life and you are death.

For the #augunfiltered challenge, the prompt was to describe RED without using the word. And here is my interpretation. Red is everything. It’s a very pious color in many religions and signifies so much.

Twirl! (short poetry)

Dance a little hon!
Maybe a twirl…
Be free and
See the magic brew!

Life is not all about being uptight. Opening up, and letting yourself free can make you immensely happy. It’s about finding the things outside of your bubble that help you grow! Have a great day. 😄

Wise Words Wednesday 18.7.18

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.

Something cool about the date today, and feeling positive 🙂

After You’re Gone

Discovering your brown boots
And one by one
All the things you left behind
Books and keys
Clothes and receipts
Crumbs of us.
Some of you and some of me.

This was a surprise sort of short poem that just came to be because I was thinking about how it is the little things that remind us of the people we no longer have in our lives. It doesn’t always have to be a better half, these verses work for every relationship we’ve ever had that was so close to us. That we see the crumbs of a past frequently every day and we miss that person every single time that happens.
