Friday Nights

“Each Friday night,

like a dirty little secret,

together

but only for a few hours.”

Well well well. What do I say about this one. Rather be tight-lipped about this 😋 no pun intended. Congrats if you saw it! 😂🙈 Thanks for reading everyone.

Secret Indulgence

I keep you hidden from the
prying eyes of the world
and devour you,
when night time comes
Slowly, I drown in
your sweet fragrance
Guilty, like a
secret indulgence.

Happy Flashback Friday. This post was written for the whole month of August prompts I did over on my IG page. Have a great day everyone 🙂

Acceptance (Happy post!)

If you have a darkness,
I am okay with it. I welcome it
towards my light!
Acceptance is the best gift
you can give to someone.

When I wrote it, this piece had a different first line, “If you’re dark, I’m okay with it”. But I realized that it might seem a little offensive, even though it was not intended that way. So my thought was that even if you believe there’s a darkness in you, I’m okay with it. And do invite it towards me, and my light – positivity, optimism. Because acceptance is such an important thing. That’s how you grow and people feel welcome. Having acceptance makes us feel loved!

Secrets to Carry

Myriad colors and faces in the crowd,

Thoughts, dreams and wishes echoing loud

Find the man most glad, he’s stark,

For he hides a secret most dark.

Flashback Friday! This was first posted on my blog in July 2016 and received mixed reactions from the ‘crowd’. Because it is a little dark, it seems like a twisted quartet. But the thought behind it is actually the common thread that binds us all today – that we carry deep secrets within us and yet be social, pretend to be happy and hide behind our smiles to appear normal. If you believe another interpretation of it is valid, I’d love to know.

Secret

Myriad colors and faces in the crowd,

Thoughts, dreams and wishes echoing loud

Find the man most glad, he’s stark,

For he hides a secret most dark.

PS: This one is from my diary archives. I remember penning this forever ago! It’s still remarkably accurate.

Truer Lies

The whole truth is only a misnomer now. What we call the truth may technically only be a half-truth. Some people would be served untruths and some are worthy of truer lies. In this medley of half-truths, truer lies and guarded secrets, who can we truly trust?

Man is a social being, is he not? His friends, family and neighbors make up his society. Also now, his Facebook friends, and non-friends(😉) are important stakeholders in deciding what kind of image he has in the society.

I may be a wealthy person, but as long as it is a secret, not many people would value me for even the right reasons. Continue reading “Truer Lies”
