Wise Words Wednesday: July 8, 2020

Darling, there is no one metaphor that can define you. You are a world unto yourself!

Some positivity for today. I rarely use my own stuff for Wise Words Wednesday but I guess this is inspiring. It always is for me. Hope you have a great day and a great week ahead. Art by @callmealyne on Instagram.

I am posting my poetry and pieces on Instagram daily and some tidbits about my life too.

“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
― Barack Obama

Hope all of you have a good day! 🙂

June 10 is an important date for me, and finding any inspiration today is crucial for keeping my mind off things. This quote is, in general, a very inspiring one that drives you to be focussed. Wise Words Wednesdays are back and hopefully, I am back too. For good this time. Life has been a little overwhelming and even though I have nothing big to report, things have been happening. I will do another update post soon. These posts keep me updated about my current state of mind when I put my feelings into words. And, to explain my sporadic absences from the blog too. Because the blog has been one of those constant things in my life that brings me satisfaction and happiness.

Your calm.

My chaos longs for

your calm.

Well, its Valentine’s Day and I would be remiss to not post on my very lovely blog today. Hope you’re all having a great day with the love of your life, at work, with your best friends, family or just by yourself with pizza and Netflix, because  ‘yay, self-love’.

Another year and I would carefully keep my plans under wraps. Hehe, partly because I’m smack in the middle of my exams and the highlight of my day will be a few calls, some texting, good food and a ton of good music from my forever playlist.

Wise Words Wednesday (December 4, 2019)

Don’t worry if you’re making waves simply by being yourself. The moon does it all the time.
– Scott Stabile

I used to find, and collect and write down quotes from everywhere. I am from the newspaper generation where Sunday used to be a quote extravaganza. I am not that old :P. Some of my murals (haha – diaries) are still somewhere safe at home. During the transition period to online and all access Google search, I somewhat lost my practice of doing that consistently. I still do it for Wise Words Wednesday but not so consistently.

That is when I found this quote by Scott Stabile and I was blown away by the trueness and enormity of it. It is so beautiful, and since the moon has a special meaning in my heart it touched me so much more. With this quote, I hope everyone feels empowered and can do the things that come to you truly. Being yourself is crucial!

Have a nice day.

The greatest lovers are like twin blooms, each reflecting the passion and the glory of the other.

Jonathan Lockwood Huie

I was in a weird funk last week! This week has been almost back to normal. But some things happened that changed so many of my views, for better or for worse. I hate being cryptic here, but the quote should be helpful as a hint. Anyway, A quote about a new love for Wise Words Wednesday. Hope you have a lovely day! 🙂

Wise Words Wednesday (Nov 20, 2019)

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.”
– Edith Sitwell

A winter coat (quote)! All puns intended on this blog. It is the time for winter for all of us in the Northern hemisphere and I could not be happier. I love the wintertime so much more than the sweltering summers. Don’t get me wrong, summers are glorious! But winters for me are magical – the cosiness, the food and the general vibe is pleasant. So this Wise Words Wednesday we are celebrating the winter season.

Have a great day!

Wise Words Wednesday (Nov 12, 2019)

“The Seven Social Sins are:

Wealth without work.
Pleasure without conscience.
Knowledge without character.
Commerce without morality.
Science without humanity.
Worship without sacrifice.
Politics without principle.
From a sermon given by Frederick Lewis Donaldson in Westminster Abbey, London, on March 20, 1925.”
― Frederick Lewis Donaldson

I was working on something related to conscience and felt like it would make for a great theme for Wise Words Wednesday this week. In fact, it would be a great topic to discuss on the blog in general, because it is open to interpretation and yet it is something that we define so strictly.

I am also promising myself that I will not miss any WWW posts because that will help me be more punctual and regular about the posts on the blog. And God knows I’m slacking, haha. Even Insta will stop being inspirational for me and I am thankful that writing and this blog is my safe place and therapy. Thank you for reading. I am thinking of making this even more personal so that it can soothe me, help me keep sane. I will decide soon, but hope all of you have a good day today! 🙂
