Happy New Year 2019!

A crisp dawn with bright, blue skies
Bring you new happiness and new heights,
As the old year goes, on the horizon are
New memories, milestones and infinite growth.

It seems hard for me to believe, but it is here! 2019, the last of the teens πŸ˜‰

I have grown up along with the years in an almost uncanny way, and it seems like a great year to have fun, and be responsible all at the same time. I have not got to making resolutions yet, but I am planning on doing it soon. Getting fit is always a priority, but seems like that along with the other promises are off to a slow start. Nonetheless, I believe the will to start anew, and with fresh vigour is equally important.

Here is wishing everyone a happy and prosperous new year, where you grow for good, and enjoy each moment fully. I know I have a lot of changes to make as a person, as a friend, as a sibling, and I am hoping that I can do them all justice.

In terms of being thankful, I would not be able to name all the people who have made 2018 memorable for me, or being a part of my life that drives a change. But thank you to everyone who loved me enough to be truthful to me. Thank you to all the people who hated me enough to make me change paths. Thank you to my family and friends who have supported me through thick and thin. Hopefully, I can deserve the same kind of love and support in the years to come, and I can extend the same towards all the people in my life. All I can ask is for God to forgive me, and bless us all!

Have a happy new year, everybody! πŸ™‚

Flashback Friday: Lay Bare

Get me a pale blonde bob,
And suede boots in grey charcoal.

Make me look a little different,
But separate from my soul.

Claw at me with your suspicion.
Try me, I will still be more!

I’m now two souls, incorrigibly different,
I am not the ME you’re looking for.

Learning to love yourself normally takes a while. To accept your flaws, to embrace your quirkiness and celebrate the qualities of oneself come with age. And, till then we try to present a different front to the world.. an artificial, made-up version which conflicts with our true image. If that persists for long, we become two different people, looking perfect but feeling almost empty with our rendition of ourselves.

This was posted in June 2016, and I am reposting this under Flashback Fridays so a lot more people can see this now, leave likes, comments and make my day. πŸ˜›

Three Day Quote Challenge (Day 1)

In one of the first few challenges that I have been nominated for, Chape Personal Trainer has given me my favourite, I think. It is a Three Day Quote Challenge.

  • Challenge rules:
  1. Post three consecutive days.
  2. You can pick one or three quotes per day.
  3. Challenge three different bloggers per day.

For someone who knows me, knows that I absolutely love reading and sharing quotes. My obsession with beautiful words is so far advanced that I maintain a Quote Diary in which I quickly scribble quotations and short inspirational verses.
