Not Alone!

“Darling, it’s okay. You don’t have to face the world alone. “
Being an independent person is cool and all but sometimes you need to accept the help. Doing the tough stuff with someone beside you always gives you strength and power to face more. Thanks for reading. Art by @elesq

Friday Nights

“Each Friday night,

like a dirty little secret,

together

but only for a few hours.”

Well well well. What do I say about this one. Rather be tight-lipped about this 😋 no pun intended. Congrats if you saw it! 😂🙈 Thanks for reading everyone.

I am posting my poetry and pieces on Instagram daily and some tidbits about my life too.

Ingenue (short poetry)

For the next prompt of the #augunfiltered challenge, the prompt was Ingenue.

INGENUE is an innocent or unsophisticated young woman, especially in a play or film. Generally a girl or a young woman who is endearingly innocent and wholesome.
Paragon is a person or thing regarded as a perfect example of a particular quality.

Here is my take on it:

She walks like petals on water
Her fragrance lingering
long after she’s gone.
You can see the innocence in her eyes
and the honesty of thought,
The ingenue has an aura
That makes her a paragon.

Here lies…

If you’re looking
for the girl who wrote poetry,
she died. And here she lies,
with a head full of ideas
and a smile brimming with life.
She left her stories behind.
She’ll still be here if you care
In her truest words, in the black and white.

For the prompt: Write 5 lines that would appear on your epitaph. I’m posting daily on Instagram @sv__poetry! I never felt that I was so good to write for my own epitaph. But wanted to be so meta as to do that for the challenge. In our culture, we don’t have burials or epitaphs, which made this even more unique for me. Leave comments about what your preference should be for the words on your stone.

The Balm

Darling,
you
are the
balm
to my
sorrows
and the
salvation
to my
soul.

It is a true expression of how much someone could mean to you. This can also easily be used as wedding vows. So, this will be Vintage Vows Post #1! 🙂
