Mother

I resonate with you
As you brought me to life.
You represent an emblem of sacrifice
And of love, boundless and infinite.
Poem or praise falls short, as an ode
To a mother is who is a god!

I remember writing this for Mothers’ Day and I should have sent it to her but I don’t do the mushy stuff! Haha. I sent her a lot of other messages that I’m sure meant the world to her but could not make up for the geographical distance we had this time around. A huge thanks to my mom who has always loved me, trusted me and made me a good human being. I can only hope to be as strong, and confident as she is. Because she has sacrificed a lot to see us happy! Every day we should thank our moms, but here is just another reason to do this today. If you haven’t done so, tell your mom you love her!

I am posting my poetry and pieces on Instagram daily and some tidbits about my life too.

I knew what died meant.

I knew what died meant.

When my clothes didn’t change
But hers did.

When my smile didn’t fade
But hers did.

When blossomed red some rose
But that wasn’t the color she wore.

I wasn’t the strong one.
But she didn’t falter.

I was just a child.
Scraping memories, time beguiled.

Wrapped in a love so fierce
Under a watchful eye.

But I am still a child.
Pondering about the last time she smiled.

My one, loving for two.
Doing for two. Dying for two.

I don’t hate that
I know what died means.
