Balm

Darling,
you
are the
balm
to my
sorrows
and the
salvation
to my
soul.

It is a true expression of how much someone could mean to you. This can also easily be used as wedding vows. So, this will be Vintage Vows Post #1! 🙂

This piece was first posted on the blog in June 2018. On Flashback Frirdays, I repost some of my favorite pieces since more people can see it now. Or so I hope since WordPress has been restricting engagement with posts too!

Besotted

Besotted means strongly infatuated.
Yardstick means a measuring rod a yard long, typically divided into inches. A standard used for comparison.
The second last prompt for #augunfiltered was Besotted. And here’s my piece:

Besotted, I look for you in others
A yardstick by which they’re measured.
Coz I know, I cannot survive eternity
If you’re not here right by me.

Lotus

A rose for my love.
That’s what I grew up believing
Just an enigma
It’s red, it’s delicate like a dove
And, I accepted it without knowing.

But since I’d met you
The definitions faded away
I learned that
A lotus lasts for a thousand years
A rose lasts for a day.

You were here, and without any fear,
you decided to stay.
I knew I’d found my lotus
The promised forever was near
I knew we’d bloom together,
come December or May.

With You!

Nights with you are exciting, crazy,
Mornings hot bothered, and lazy.
The closer we get
the world gets hazy.
Wait for me, oh reticent paramour!
This love, you say, is easy.

This post first appeared on this blog in December 2015, when I was just starting out.
