Trip to Hannover (for Gandhi Jayanti and more!)

I had a plan. I had promised myself that I would do all the travel posts in chronological order but adulting comes in the way. So this evening, when I felt motivated enough, I decided I would make the posts that I love when I am in the mood for them. After all, this is my blog and I can make (and break πŸ˜‰ ) the rules!

So, 2 days ago, on October 2 2019 (almost a month ago, do you see when I started writing this post πŸ˜› ), we as a group went to Hannover in Germany to celebrate Gandhi Ji’s 150th birth anniversary. The plan started because of this commitment but our trip was almost the whole day where we explored the city and its marvels before attending the show in the evening at the Hannover International School where IASH put up a beautiful show about the Indian culture and Gandhian values.

So, let us start with our train journey to Hannover. These were our views!

And when we finally reached the Hannover Hauptbahnhof (main train station), it was very busy but beautiful once we got out.

The Opera House.

The Rathaus (Central Office Place)

Machseefontane. (The little sea, as I understand)

The Main Gandhi Jayanti event where there was music, mime, children’s events and food!

The Oktoberfest carnival was also on!

I always buy something from the place I visited. So I got this fridge magnet, and 2 postcards for my collection! That is it for now. I’m literally posting after one month. It was my first month back to college and it took everything out of me, and it won’t be the busiest. But I promise I’ll be better at posting, I have to for my own sanity too. This is my happy place along with Insta where I’m posting short pieces daily!

Have a good day!

Digressing Daily! (Using A 4-Year-Old Draft for Life Updates)

Normally, our lives seem normal, dull and mundane. and every day we pray to god to find some spunk. That is our one truth, what’s normal for us is: praying for the extraordinary.

As confusing as that maybe, I was aiming for the not normal blog beginning. And I think I achieved that. “Sitting at the work desk trying to achieve impossibly set goals, the mind wanders.”

Proof of Laziness πŸ˜‰

I honestly cannot remember how this post must have started. A small rant for my restless mind maybe, guessing from the first title it had. I tried to work on this draft so many times. Because I usually have so many thoughts stirring up in ye ol’ noggin. (my brain). The fact that I need to explain my words, I believe is an indicator of how out of sync I am. This is the kind of overthinking is what I’m talking about. :p

So here is a life update – I shifted to a new room on the 2nd of September, which is why I haven’t been posting as much as I would have liked to. I cleaned the room, put my things away and even had my housewarming last night! These were the invitations I sent out. Everyone loved them and on my Instastories too.

Between the room, and prepping for the party, I didn’t find much time to write. I cooked food almost all day on video call following my mother’s instructions, who is a great cook. It was nothing fancy but the food was devoured by everybody which is a good sign. Everyone had a great time, and I was glad I had friends in a foreign country to share in my happiness. I truly felt warm last night. Here are some pictures:

I needed to explain my absence before going back to the regularly scheduled programming. I also might have another set of good news, and I will share as soon as I get the green signal from higher forces ;). Not to be too cheesy, but I’ve had a good first week in the new room. I have been happier and more productive and all I can hope for is that it keeps bringing me the good vibes.

This was a mish-mash of all things that have been currently happening in my life and the stuff that I wrote down forever ago (remember the first part of this post? Yeah, me neither. That was Wise-Saloni). But the title is still apt! Which is incredible because I digressed from the main topic so many times. That was the crux of my original post too, and I delivered four years later too. Hope this wasn’t too much of a random post. Hope you guys have a great day. πŸ™‚

Journey to Germany! (Photos Included)

The title rhymes! This is one of the small happy moments that writers have!

I arrived in Berlin after almost fifteen hours of flying from New Delhi. We had a short layover in Moscow and then we landed in Berlin. Here are some pics of the journey and my not-so-funny narrations of some of the stuff that happened along the way.

This was one of the first bird’s eye views of Delhi, in my 3.30 amΒ flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3.

Delhi from the Skies

The first rays of the sun were beautiful when dawn broke. Most of the photos will have a wing in them. I thought during seat selection that it wouldn’t be so, and how wrong was I!

Good Morning sun!

It had started getting really chilly when we were over Russia, and it was proper snowing when we landed in Moscow, where my connecting flight was. When I was there, I could not connect to the airport wifi and had zero network bars on my phone to inform someone at home that I landed safely at the first stop. As an Indian kid, it is imperative to do that. Plus, since I suffer from motion sickness, this update becomes even more important.

We had a little issue with the Aeroflot change in flight schedules about 3 days before my planned departure. The initial flight from Delhi was delayed by about 3 hours which meant I would have missed my connecting flight to Berlin. I had to board an earlier flight to avoid that.

I stayed there for two days, after which I came to where I am staying right now. The next blog post is about my time in Berlin. The next few travel-related posts will be photos and my experience. I am here for further studies, and I have my exams in 2 days for which I am procrastinating by creating these posts πŸ˜‰ haha.

If you liked this kind of post, please leave a comment! They make me happy in turn. Or if you have any questions, I would love to answer them.

Wise Words Wednesday 24.4.2019

“Life is simple. We insist on making it complicated. ”
Confucius

This is the first Wise Words Wednesday that I am doing here. I know I have a lot to share, but I just haven’t found all the time to do it properly. I have photos, stories, and experiences to share about life in Germany, and I will in due time. Till then, have a great day everyone πŸ™‚ Thank you for all the support even when I’ve been gone. I have posts ready and I will be publishing left, right and center from now on. Wish me luck!

I’m in Germany!

I have been gone a bit. I had planned on having some scheduled posts ready, but I could not deliver in the rush of packing and coming here.

It is beautiful! I will share all the details and my journey here very soon and will be back to regular posting hopefully by this week or next Monday. Thanks for always sticking by, all 911 of you now! I thought I would sneakily put this in here, that we are near the 1000 followers mark.
