Skullduggery (micro poetry)

Broken hearts
Forgiven skullduggery
Not letting your emotions go
This is how you grow.

Skulduggery – underhand, unscrupulous, or dishonest behavior or activities. Trickery or fraudulence. “a firm that investigates commercial skullduggery”
Skullduggery was the next prompt. This was a very simple and very life-oriented post. Because we grow only when we forgive someone’s trickery, have healed our broken hearts and have a grip on our emotions.

Desolate

Languished innards
A rage gains traction.

Putrid with power
Of your behemoth play.

Single swift motion
But a slash and a burn.

One soul surrendered
Broken, two bodies lay.

This was a poem about how heartbreak leaves behind two bodies. Some of my poetry is more profound between the lines than with the words. This is one of them and was posted on the blog on May 29, 2016. With the Flashback Friday series, I have been posting some poems and articles I wrote when I didn’t have as many followers so more people can see it now and share their views.

Revelations

I used to

lay awake

at night,

Thinking I was

deep.

Marvelling at

my stories.

Keeping to

myself

Guarding all

secrets,

Putting up

walls.

A random

conversation,

Something spilled

out.

Not a lot.

Few precious

pearls.

I know  now.

I am not deep.

I am

Hollow.

Flashback Friday: Desolate

Languished innards
A rage gains traction.

Putrid with power
Of your behemoth play.

Single swift motion
But a slash and a burn.

One soul surrendered
Broken, two bodies lay.

One Last Glance

Suddenly I whirl
For one last glimpse
But did you see?
We’ll never know, will we?

Drifters of the world
Lovers of the wild,
Once meeting somehow
Guess we’ll never know now.

Stars aligned, we shared a vow
Broken now, wonder how
How did we let go?
Think we’ll never know.
