I’ve started Flashback Friday to repost some posts because I have a lot more followers than I did last year. It is also a very simple way to reminisce about my state of mind from a year ago! This was a surprise haiku that just came to me because I was thinking about how inner beauty is much more than the apparent beauty that people so revere.

Rainbows with You!

I used to choose monochrome.
But with you, I feel the colors,
Live the rainbow
Be the air, and breathe the sun.
Alive, and dead. And all in between.
Find salvation.

Love, The Black and White way

 A lot seeps from the cracks,
but this is pure atrophy

the words form into strings,
shapes to memories and agony.

A lot that was left unsaid,
when the winds blew that day

will be written down in history
the black and white way.

Pride, Strength and Resilience

“If you are a woman, if you’re a person of colour, if you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, if you are a person of size, if you are a person of intelligence, if you are a person of integrity, then you are considered a minority in this world.

And it’s going to be really hard to find messages of self-love and support anywhere. Especially women’s and gay men’s culture. It’s all about how you have to look a certain way or else you’re worthless. You know when you look in the mirror and you think ‘oh, I’m so fat, I’m so old, I’m so ugly’, don’t you know, that’s not your authentic self?

Raging Battles

A young girl walks bare feet,
Amongst the gunpowder and debris,
She looks at the bloody bodies, now covered,
She mourns deeply for her beloved.

The world was such an empty place before,
Then came her prince-on-the-white-horse to the fore,
They shared a bond that could last forevermore
The world wasn’t so empty anymore.

Thought of the day

“You are beautiful. Your beauty, just like your capacity for life, happiness, and success, is immeasurable. Day after day, countless people across the globe get on a scale in search of validation of beauty and social acceptance.

Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are.
