Wise Words Wednesday (December 4, 2019)

Don’t worry if you’re making waves simply by being yourself. The moon does it all the time.
– Scott Stabile

I used to find, and collect and write down quotes from everywhere. I am from the newspaper generation where Sunday used to be a quote extravaganza. I am not that old :P. Some of my murals (haha – diaries) are still somewhere safe at home. During the transition period to online and all access Google search, I somewhat lost my practice of doing that consistently. I still do it for Wise Words Wednesday but not so consistently.

That is when I found this quote by Scott Stabile and I was blown away by the trueness and enormity of it. It is so beautiful, and since the moon has a special meaning in my heart it touched me so much more. With this quote, I hope everyone feels empowered and can do the things that come to you truly. Being yourself is crucial!

Have a nice day.

The greatest lovers are like twin blooms, each reflecting the passion and the glory of the other.

Jonathan Lockwood Huie

I was in a weird funk last week! This week has been almost back to normal. But some things happened that changed so many of my views, for better or for worse. I hate being cryptic here, but the quote should be helpful as a hint. Anyway, A quote about a new love for Wise Words Wednesday. Hope you have a lovely day! πŸ™‚

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.”
– Edith Sitwell

A winter coat (quote)! All puns intended on this blog. It is the time for winter for all of us in the Northern hemisphere and I could not be happier. I love the wintertime so much more than the sweltering summers. Don’t get me wrong, summers are glorious! But winters for me are magical – the cosiness, the food and the general vibe is pleasant. So this Wise Words Wednesday we are celebrating the winter season.

Have a great day!

β€œThe Seven Social Sins are:

Wealth without work.
Pleasure without conscience.
Knowledge without character.
Commerce without morality.
Science without humanity.
Worship without sacrifice.
Politics without principle.
From a sermon given by Frederick Lewis Donaldson in Westminster Abbey, London, on March 20, 1925.”
― Frederick Lewis Donaldson

I was working on something related to conscience and felt like it would make for a great theme for Wise Words Wednesday this week. In fact, it would be a great topic to discuss on the blog in general, because it is open to interpretation and yet it is something that we define so strictly.

I am also promising myself that I will not miss any WWW posts because that will help me be more punctual and regular about the posts on the blog. And God knows I’m slacking, haha. Even Insta will stop being inspirational for me and I am thankful that writing and this blog is my safe place and therapy. Thank you for reading. I am thinking of making this even more personal so that it can soothe me, help me keep sane. I will decide soon, but hope all of you have a good day today! πŸ™‚

“You will never ‘find’ time for anything. If you want time, you must make it. ”
Charles Buxton

“Whether it’s the best of times or the worst of times, it’s the only time we’ve got.”
Art Buchwald

“You can’t turn back the clock. But you can wind it up again.”
Bonnie Prudden

These quotes are excellent no doubt, but they are a little bit for me! Right now, I’ve been wasting a ton of time, not being focused on work and maybe a little bit uninspired by certain aspects of my life. That is no excuse because the things I’ve undertaken will take a long time and a good amount of effort. So, hoping that these inspire you and me both to be a little more productive today and in the days to come!

Have a good day! πŸ™‚ Smile a lot.

“A house is made of bricks and beams. A home is made of hopes and dreams.”

β€œHome is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends.”

Couldn’t agree more with this quote today. I guess I just am in that mood where I really miss home some days. Reading these quotes help me cope and understand that the other things I am doing are just as important. And that any place could feel like home if we just felt like it. Maybe my new room comes with the home vibes.

Hope you guys have a great day πŸ™‚

β€œShow me a person who has never made a mistake and I’ll show you someone who has never achieved much.”
― Joan Collins

I need to explain my absence from WordPress for the last 2 or 3 weeks. I had my exams and was trying to focus on them, albeit I know the extent of my focus πŸ˜€ Haha. Anyway, I am hopefully back to regular posting and there would be a bevy of posts on my blog. For a few days after the exams, I was just proacrastinating and it had already been so long since I had posted, I felt weird even saying anything. But I love my blog so much, that I could never think of leaving it forever. More posts on poetry, and travel coming soon. Have a great day everyone!

Travel and change of place impart new vigour to the mind.

-Seneca

I had never been the kind of person who loves to travel or move about due to my inherent lazy attributes. But after having been here for a while now I realise that even this is a learning experience. I understand that at every step of the way there are challenges that make you excited, scared and confident. It teaches you patience and to keep an open mind for everything! I am still lazy, but this is definitely a good experience.

I miss home terribly, but I believe in the theme of this quote entirely. Happy Wednesday and have a great day! Stick around for photos of this place where I am now.
