Versatile Blogger Award

It’s a good week when you’re nominated for one blogging award. But, when you receive TWO in the same breath, it’s a blockbuster week! Sheryl, from the BIA Atlas blog, nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award on September 22. And David of Occasional Dreams nominated me the very next day. It is a big compliment because Sheryl nominated David too. So, now we’re like a big happy family spreading the award cheer all around 😀

I’m sure my excitement is palpable as I haven’t done an award post in so so long. Needless to say, I have a few (pending) awards to thank people for! Sheryl is an author whose journey began with a sentence – “No Joe, I don’t believe in superheroes.” Thrilled? Continue reading “Versatile Blogger Award”

The Following: 3oo Followers!

It’s a milestone! I have 300 followers!2016-05-26 00_20_11-Greenshot

This blog started with a small idea. The will to write, and a free kind of platform. I haven’t even completed a year in the blogosphere but the love that I have experienced from you all is overwhelming. Through this, I feel calm knowing I can share my true, unadulterated writings so passionately.

I never thought so many people would be interested in knowing and reading about my life. It surprises me till date, to see so many of you genuinely appreciating the poetry. WordPress is a lot better than other forms of social platforms because it lends a personalised feel to the whole experience. Like minded intellectuals, with expertise in various fields, accepting and open to neo-ideas make it a very enriching experience. And honestly, I use my WordPress Reader much more than my “Compose Blog” button!

I was initially wary of sharing my composed poems because of copyright constraints and the fear of piracy.. everything I write, being close to my heart. But once I got over it, every time I post, I feel lighter. And I couldn’t be happier. 😛

When I started, it was a little of this and a little of that. When I began reading others’ blogs, I was surprised to find 800, 1000 and even 10000 followers. Those people are celebrities in my book. And being someone with 300 followers made me feel at least one-third that important! 😀

Vintage Sapience has a unique name and it’s meaning has a great story too. Old fashioned wisdom. Understanding good sense, discerning intelligence. The inspiration came from a random bus ride, my brain singularly overflowing with thoughts of ‘sapience’; and my infinite love for all things vintage (Victorian, for reference).

Thank You for showing me all this love! And I hope I can keep you guys, my supportive reader-base, happy, and interested in the content I post. I have some truly  amazing plans for Vintage Sapience. I’m sure it’ll flourish with all this kindness. 🙂

P. S. The point of this long, unencumbered discourse was gratitude. So much so, that I blabbed in this blog post.

300: One Big Deal!

One Lovely Blog Award

Vintage Sapience was honoured with the One Lovely Blog Award by none other than David from Chape Personal Trainer. I cannot thank him enough for being such a friendly, supportive person. He was one of my very first friends on the unknown blogosphere and I’m proud to say that it has been amazing since then. Thank you, David! 😀

Sunshine Blogger Award!

When my friend Vikram from Blogmaniac nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award, I was pretty happy 😀 Then I read what it stands for, and I was over the moon! This award is given to those who are inspiring and bring sunshine into the lives of their readers and fellow bloggers. It is such an honor to receive!

Who brings sunshine into your day? Let me know in the comments below. It doesn’t have to be a blogger!

Vikram has an amazing, inspirational blog himself. The 13-word stories are my favorite while the regular philosophical posts make you happier and optimistic about life. It is such fun to be nominated by an excellent blogger as him.

The Rules:
  1. Thank the person that nominated you
  2. Answer the questions from the person that nominated you
  3. Nominate some other bloggers for this award
  4. Write the same amount of questions for the bloggers you have nominated
  5. Notify the bloggers you have nominated.
My Answers to his questions:

Q: What if WordPress disappears next morning?

As a fairly new blogger, I would honestly freak out. This is my creative release and if I didn’t have this, I would become really cranky. Not getting to read the articles from the other bloggers would also be terrible because I learn so much every day.

Q: What comes to your mind when I say, God?

A positive, all-encompassing entity, who/which has infinite wisdom, power and omnipotence. Strangely, I don’t see a face, just light.

Q: What keeps you motivated?

Knowing that everything happens for a reason and that it will all fall into place, even if it seems horrid at that moment.

Q: What do you expect from your readers?

Oh, I don’t expect anything but I would love for them to keep commenting, with their suggestions. It helps me know that I have someone who thinks my writing is worth something. That is what is so amazing about WordPress that we have like-minded people as a community actually interested in each other’s work.

Q: Which is your favorite tv show?

I can never have only one show that is my fav. I love TV too much. Here’s a list: Dexter, The Office, Gossip Girl, Criminal Minds, Bones, Friends, Game of Thrones, and more!

Q: What makes you angry?

Incompetent people in your team who decide to not work at all. That makes me furious.

Q: Tell two things about your country you dislike most?

Well, the Indian mindset about certain things is definitely a bummer. Also, the lack of hygiene in the rural areas. I really would like for that to improve.

Q: Tell two things which you did this new year and you will remember them throughout the whole year?

I actually started writing more this year. I am glad that I could because I hadn’t done that for a long time. Also, I am reading books more.

Q: Are you a competitor or a cooperative?

Cooperative, I believe.

Q: Who is your favorite author?

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, no doubt. He created Sherlock Holmes and I am obsessed with him and now have all his works.

The Epic Awesomeness Award

I am finally getting down to the numerous award posts that were pending forever! If there ever were an award for procrastination, I would definitely get THAT one. 😛

David nominated me for this award ages ago. And he would laugh out loud if he realised I delayed it by this much. The perfectionist in me didn’t want to do a random quickie post. At Chape Personal Trainer, he is dishing out cool music playlists ideal for your regular workouts. If you’re a lazy bum like me (especially lazy at exercising), his tips will really help you get off your comfy couch. And a good beginning is ideal. Definitely check him out for his awesome posts and really friendly blog.

Without further ado, here are the rules:

  1. I know you are Awesome, tell us why.
  2. You are my friends and tell us about others.
  3. Be creative. It’s alright if you can’t be.
  4. I give no questions to be fully answered but let yourself go here. Thank you.

Why am I awesome? Because I am a good, patient human being. Not to sound quite full of myself but these awards make me feel really awesome. They are a validation of my work and all the likes and comments from fellow bloggers makes me feel extra special.

Everyone I have met on this virtual space has turned out to be really helpful. It is a miracle that a keyboard, an empty tex for everything we can write, gives us the freedom to be ourselves. I have noticed people are a lot happier, and more interactive here than in the real world. You, my readers, ARE my friends!

I am creative. I write and I draw! I am no Picasso but some of my funny drawings turn out just fine. Here is one of them now:

I further nominate the following bloggers:

A lot of you will be nominated in the upcoming award posts 🙂

DARTS AWARDS – PREMIOS DARDOS

Once more, David nominated me for the famously legendary Premios Dardos! Translated, in means ‘Prize Darts’, and is awarded by one blogger to another, in recognition of cultural, ethical, literary and personal values that are transmitted in the form of creative and original writing. (Yay!)

His blog, if you haven’t seen it yet, is truly a treasure chest! I love it simply because it has quotes, daily fitness routines and awesome content. No wonder he’s always getting awards for being friendly, helpful, creative, and frankly, a very passionate blogger. There is a whole website on how to be healthy with good eating habits, exercise regimen and excellent foodie recipes too.

It’s an honour to have been nominated by him!
